What Is Electrolysis, Exactly?
Electrolysis is the only permanent method of hair removal approved by the FDA. It works by inserting a tiny, fine probe into the hair follicle (don’t worry – it doesn’t pierce the skin), then using a controlled electrical current to destroy the root. The treated hair is then gently removed with tweezers.
Each follicle is treated individually, which is why it’s so precise and effective — especially on areas like the chin, upper lip, neck and jawline.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Hair grows in cycles, and electrolysis is most effective during the active (anagen) growth phase. Because of this, you’ll need a course of treatments, spaced over several months. Some people see a difference in just a few sessions, others require more — especially if there’s a hormonal influence.

Does It Hurt?
Electrolysis isn’t pain-free, but most people describe it as a mild heat or stinging sensation, completely manageable (especially in short bursts). I use a specialist technique to ensure treatments are as comfortable as possible, and topical numbing cream can be applied if needed.
