How Often Should I Get a Facial? Your Skin, Your Schedule – Caroline’s Honest Advice

One of the most common questions I’m asked in the treatment room is:
"How often should I get a facial?"
The answer? It depends on your skin, your lifestyle, and the results you're after.

Whether you're a seasoned skincare devotee or just dipping your toes into the world of professional facials, I believe everyone deserves healthy, confident, glowing skin—and regular facials are a powerful way to get there.

Here’s my honest, expert advice on how often to treat yourself, what to book, and when.

So… Why Get Facials Regularly?

Facials do more than give you that gorgeous post-treatment glow (although, let’s be honest, that’s one of the best bits).
They help to:

  • Deep-cleanse pores

  • Boost hydration

  • Improve circulation and skin tone

  • Stimulate collagen

  • Address specific concerns like breakouts, sensitivity or dullness

  • Keep your skincare routine on track

Most importantly, they’re a chance to reconnect with yourself. Time to relax, unwind, and leave the world at the door.

How Often Is Ideal?

The Gold Standard: Every 4–6 Weeks
Your skin regenerates roughly every 28 days, so a monthly facial is ideal for maintaining long-term skin health. This keeps your skin balanced, nourished and beautifully fresh.

Of course, everyone’s skin is different. Here’s how I break it down based on life stage, seasons, and skin goals:

Seasonal Facial Advice

Spring
Focus: Detox and refresh
After winter’s central heating and sluggish circulation, spring is the time to clear out congestion and awaken the skin. My Skin Detox Facials or Noon Aesthetic Peels are perfect for revealing your radiance again.

Summer
Focus: Protection and hydration
Sun, sweat and SPF can build up on the skin. In summer, I recommend gentle exfoliation and deep hydration with AlumierMD Radiance Facials or a course of microneedling to strengthen the skin barrier.

Autumn
Focus: Repair and rebuild
This is peel season! After summer exposure, skin often needs a little help reversing sun damage and boosting collagen. Treatments like Noon Peels, SkinPen Microneedling, or Celluma Light Therapy can be transformational.

Winter
Focus: Nourishment and glow
Cold, dry air and central heating can wreak havoc. Deeply hydrating facials, like my Glow & Go or CACI Rejuvenation Facial, help to restore moisture and softness.

By Life Stage or Skin Concern

Teenage skin
Hormonal breakouts? Start with a deep cleansing facial every 6–8 weeks. We’ll keep things gentle and supportive, while helping to build confidence.

20s–30s
This is the time to protect and prevent. Regular facials help with hydration, stress, and the first signs of ageing. Microneedling or LED light therapy can also help calm acne flare-ups.

40s–50s
As collagen production naturally slows, treatments that stimulate renewal like SkinPen, Noon Peels and CACI facial toning become even more effective. A facial every 4–6 weeks helps your skin stay firm, clear and radiant.

60+
Hydration, skin density and glow are key at this stage. I recommend monthly nourishing facials with Celluma LED or CACI to boost comfort, softness and natural luminosity.

What If I Can’t Commit Every Month?

That’s totally okay! You’ll still benefit from seasonal facials – aim for four a year to support your skin through environmental changes. I’m always happy to create a bespoke skincare plan that fits around your life, your budget, and your needs.

Confidence Looks Different on Everyone

Great skin isn’t about perfection. It’s about feeling comfortable in your own skin, knowing you’re taking care of yourself from the outside in.

There’s something quietly powerful about looking in the mirror and loving what you see — and facials are just one tool to help you get there.
